This year on the SS16 catwalks there were lots of gorgeous denim-toned, aquamarine, cobalt blue shades. From Diane Von Furstenberg’s 70’s disco vibes to Sonia Rykiel’s metallic grungy navy eyes there wasn’t a shortage of blue makeup trends to choose from. My favourite look from this beauty trend was the metallic navy smokey eyes that to me screamed denim!
So here is my take on the SS16 beauty trend that soared the catwalks:
Complexion
- Primer: Benefit porefessional
- Foundation: Estee Lauder Double wear light
- Under eyes / concealer: MAC prep and prime highlighter (Radiant Rose) and MAC pro conceal and correct palette (Light)
- Contour: Chanel bronze universal and Anastasia Beverly Hills powder contour palette
- Blush: MAC mineralise warm soul
- Highlight: MAC Strobe cream and Becca moonstone
Eyes
- Eye primer: MAC paint pot in antique diamond
- Shadows: The main navy blue, glittery eyeshadow I used to create this look gave my eyes a bad reaction; so I would recommend a shadow such as Makeup Geek center stage foiled shadow in it’s place, Makeup Geek mesmerised foiled shadow, Makeup Geek drama queen, Makeup Geek corrupt
- Kohl liner: Bourjois waterproof contour clubbing liner in 46 bleu neon
- Velour Lashes in winging (You will get so much more wear out of these lashes than your typical lashes from high street brands. Velour lashes are handcrafted from 100% genuine Mink Hair, cruelty free and free from any chemical processing and dyes. Definitely worth the extra money!)
- Mascara on lower lashes: Yves Saint Laurent false lash effect
- Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade (taupe) and MAC brow set (emphatically blonde)
