After packing everything I needed, for our lovely friend’s Wedding, into one bag; I quickly narrowed down what my go to Summer Makeup must haves are.
I’ve been on the hunt for a glowy tinted moisturiser for a while and I think I’ve finally found my favourite formula. Let me introduce you to the Laura Mercier illuminating tinted moisturiser. What I like most about this product is the lightweight formula and the gorgeous radiant finish it gives the skin. Another huge benefit to wearing this tinted moisturiser is that it contains an SPF, an absolute must in Summer. As I get older, I’m becoming more and more aware of the importance of protecting your skin every day. The sun protection factor is relatively low in this, SPF 20, and it gave me no issues whatsoever with flashback; this is so important when you know you’re going to be in lots of photos.
Next up we have Nars soft matte complete concealer. I recently bought this along with a replacement of my Nars radiant creamy concealer and I must say I love both! I mainly use the soft matte concealer for covering under eyes and blemishes whereas I like to grab my radiant creamy concealer for t-zone application. The reason I prefer the soft matte complete concealer for covering undereyes and blemishes over the radiant creamy concealer is I find it creases less. My undereyes are on the drier side and despite this concealer being classed as ‘matte’ I find it wears well and looks lovely on.
Nars Laguna Bronzer; this has been a best selling bronzer for Nars for a long time. The formula has recently been revamped to a matte finish; previously it had a soft shimmer through it. Something I’ve always liked about this bronzer is the shade. It’s a natural bronze and it doesn’t look orangey when applied to the skin. I have fair skin and this bronzer is perfect for giving that gorgeous Summer glow.
Becca Champagne Pop; this gives your skin the ultimate popping highlight. Becca are hands down my favourite brand when it comes to highlighters. Champagne pop is a Universal apricot-gold shade highlighter with an almost butter like texture. A highlighter sent from the Makeup Gods – aka Becca and Jaclyn Hill!
MAC Fix + Spray; an absolute must any time of the year. It can be used as a finishing spray although I prefer to use it as a sort of fixer spray. When the skin is freshly powdered, I find it can sometimes look a little too powdery so I like to spritz this all over in an attempt to melt the products together. It leaves the skin looking flawless.
And lastly MAC Liptensity in shade ‘Doe’. I bought this to wear at the Wedding and I’m really impressed. What I like most about this lipstick is the creamy finish and how it feels on the lips, a really lovely non-drying texture. ‘Doe’ is a warm peachy nude shade, very flattering even on fair skin. The liptensity colour payoff is impeccable – I would definitely purchase more shades from this line.
This was my finished Wedding Guest Makeup look before we set off for the Venue.
What are your go-to Summer Makeup must haves? I’d love to hear which products you’ve been loving recently.
